Book Name: Princess
Author : Jean Sasson
A true story which appears to be fiction, as it seems too tough and harsh for reality. A great effort of a Saudi Arabia Princess, to bring out the story of the women of her land. A land where all rules are imposed on the fairer sex and where the fairer sex is by default the weaker and deprived sex. Deprived not of the material wealth but of freedom. An effort to reveal the condition becomes truely realistic, when the family of the highest authority on the land is demoralized and vexed due to lack of freedom. The binding for the females to cover their face appears to be a brutal assault on one's identity, however, this seems menial when the female gets punished even if she is the victim of a Rape.
The story dominates your thought process for a significant time after the reading is accomplished. Additionally, it ignites the human within you to feel for the victims. The plot traverses along the lines where there is all dullness, hope is a distant dream. Although, being written on a negative note the book provides the reader with a positive message, that whatever you are and wherever you are, you are always better than alot.
A must read!!
